Shaya

The name “Shaya” (or “Isaiah”) is a Hebrew name which means “Allah is salvation.” It is the name of the prophet who is this scripture’s author. From this name, the reader can understand the main theme of this portion of Al-Kitab. In chapters 1 to 39, the emphasis is on the importance of salvation from sin for all mankind. In chapters 40 to 66, the focus is on what Allah has done to accomplish salvation for mankind. The holy Injil contains many citations from the Taurat, the Zabur, and the writings of other prophets including Shaya. The greatest number of quotations in the Injil come from the Zabur, but the number 2 position belongs to Shaya. In this scripture of Prophet Shaya (pbuh), it can be seen that a nation’s social life is very much dependant on its spiritual life. Prophet Shaya (pbuh) warned the kingdom of Judah their wickedness would be punished. He also revealed the fact that Allah in his grace and mercy, would someday send a Saviour for all people of the earth.
