2 Chronicles

Originally, 1 and 2 Chronicles were one portion of Al-Kitab, known as Chronicles. It was split into two because of its length. Chronicles speaks about the same subjects as are found in 1 and 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings. However, Chronicles places special emphasis on the prophet-king Dawud (pbuh) and his descendants. It also gives attention to the Holy House in Jerusalem built by Sulayman (pbuh) and those who led in worship there. Many details about the priests, the Levites who assisted them, the musicians, and others who worked in the Holy House are recorded in Chronicles. Furthermore, Chronicles outlines a genealogy and history of Bani-Israel from Adam (pbuh) until the time Bani-Israel returned to Palestine/Israel after exile in Babylon.
